Merapoh Trail running is given a new breath of life by the introduction of Merapoh Rainforest Trail (MRT) in 2022. Since 2015, people of Merapoh have welcome trail runners from all over the world to its beautiful caves and trail paths.
Our main objective to preserve the National Heritage and Save Merapoh Caves. We have discovered more than 150 caves in Merapoh and we believe there could be more than 200 caves that had not been discovered yet. These national heritages are under threats of destruction from the planned big-scale cement production project and logging activities in Merapoh. As the event grows, we hope to promote and support local business and economy in Merapoh through sporttourism which were badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic for the past two years.
MRT will offer various categories for your pleasure in trail running; 25km, 50km, 100km and 100 miles categories. Participants will run through the beautiful trail of Merapoh that includes running inside and through some of the iconic caves and wading through refreshing rivers. This race is a fast course with less technical sections and caters for beginner in trail running. Cut-off time 36 hours for 100 miles, 22 hours for 100km, 12 hours for 50km and a generous 7 hours for 25km category.
MRT is officially part of UTMB World Series Qualifiers 2022.

As you all know, the race is just around the corner (24 - 26 June 2022).
We are excited to host you here in Merapoh. To prepare you well for the race, we have compiled a comprehensive Race Booklet which you can download.

Please kindly read the Event Schedule and Runner Guidelines thoroughly, so that you will not be missing any important time schedule and things to note.
Here are few things to take note :-
1-Schedule is subjected to change when deemed necessary by organizers.
2- Please follow the instructions of signages and event crews at all times.
3-Please bring along your signed Waiver Form to submit during registration, or you will be charged RM2.00/ copy at site.

4-Please get the Mandatory gears ready before you queue for Registration to minimise human traffic congestion. Mandatory gears check will be conducted during REPC and randomly along the race course.

** For participants who are unable to turn up for the event, you may assign your representative to collect your race entitlements at the REPC with the Authorization Form and your email confirmation slip.

Buying/Selling/Swapping bibs are now allowed on CPS Bib Marketplace.

Take note that the buyer will also buy over the shirt size from seller. No shirt size change is allowed.


A - FOR SELLER
  • Login to your profile on www.checkpointspot.asia + click on your DASHBOARD then Release Slot.
  • You will be given a unique code to release your slot to your buyer.
  • You can choose to either list your bib publicly on the marketplace page or deal privately with your chosen buyer

B - FOR BUYER
  • You may browse through the bibs listed on Bib Marketplace at : Marketplace Listing and contact the seller to negotiate

C - TO SWAP (upgrade or downgrade category)
  • You can either search for the wanted slot on Bib Marketplace or if you already have preferred seller/buyer, you can obtain your CODE through step (A) above, exchange your CODES with each other and register accordingly on our registration page : Register here with Transfer Code

D - NO BUYERS
  • No refund and registration remain for the event. Your released slot will be reinstated when marketplace closed.

Admin fees charges of RM40.00 will be applied for the bib marketplace process

Participating in a UTMB® World Series Qualifier race is not mandatory to begin your adventure in the Series but runners who do take part will benefit from privileged access to UTMB® World Series Events and UTMB® World Series Majors.

Entry Qualification

  • Open to Malaysian and permanent resident reside in Malaysia only
  • 18 years old and above
  • Full vaccinated ( 2nd dose and past 14 days after last vaccination)
  • Participants having the following medical conditions ARE NOT ALLOWED to participate in this trail event:
    1. Congenital or rheumatic heart conditions
    2. Hypertension
    3. Myocarditis and other heart conditions
    4. Coronary heart disease, coronary arterial disease
    5. Serious arrhythmia
    6. Diabetes
    7. Any other disease which can be aggravated by running
  • The organiser is not liable for any medical issues due to participants hiding their true medical conditions.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Important Notice

  • Participants are advised to read the following Important Notice, Terms & Conditions and Official Rules carefully before the race.
  • Participants are advised to solicit medical advice from doctor if they are in doubt of their health condition prior to taking part in the race.
  • All entry fees are non-refundable and the Organizer retains the right to refuse entry to anyone declaring false information on their entry form, not making the required payment, or otherwise failing to meet the stated entry requirements.

COVID-19 SOP
Due to Covid-19 pandemic in our country, both participants and organiser will follow strict Covid-19 SOP as stated by MKN and KKM. As organiser we took active approach and continuously consult and work with relevant government authorities and also with the local communities to make this event as safe as possible to all.
All participants, staff, crew and organiser must be fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus on race day to participate in the event. This means a time span of minimum 14 days after the second dose of approved vaccines that require two doses, and minimum 28 days after vaccination for approved vaccines requiring only one dose.
We will also conduct RTK onsite for all crews and participants before the event start. Once passed the RTK, a wrist band will be issued to all and only then participants will allowed to enter race village to collect their race kit.

Official Rules

  1. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify or exclude any person from competition who gives incorrect personal data / details on the entry form, or who is suspected of having taken banned substances. No refund of entry fee will be arranged.
  2. No result or certificate will be given to participants who do not start in the race time assigned to them by the Organizer.
  3. Participants must retire from the race immediately, if asked / requested to do so by any member of the officials, medical staff, race director, umpire and / or security officers / marshals.
  4. No pets or any form of wheel-run objects of transport, bicycles, skates, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers, etc. are NOT allowed on the course.

 

Pictures and Documentation
The Organizer shall be entitled to use pictures and documentation of the Participants taken during the event for purposes related with the event or any future events.

Amendments / Reservations / Acknowledgment

  1. Organizer reserves the right to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules.
  2. Failure to follow these event rules, as may be amended, will result in immediate disqualification and loss of prize money.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The Organizer reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without any notice once the race quota is full.
  2. Entry forms will only be processed upon receipt of full payment of entry fee.
  3. The Organizer reserves the right to limit and refuse entries without reason.
  4. The Organizer reserves the right to contact and to interview applicants by phone or otherwise for additional information required for matters relating to their applications.
  5. Entry fees are non-refundable. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse entries once the entry is accepted if any applicants provide false information, do not make the required payment, or fail to meet entry requirements as stated in the entry form.
  6. Should the event be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the Organizer (including heavy rain, thunder storm or disaster, public rally), no refund of the entry fee will be made and the Organizer shall have no further responsibility and/or liability thereafter.
  7. Running is not a ‘free risk’ sport and therefore each runner must ensure his/her health condition is fit before participating and during the race. Each runner shall be responsible with his/her own health/condition. The Organizer shall be responsible for personal injury or death during or after the race due to gross negligence of the Organizer.
  8. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow/ disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the event. Should a runner get injured during the race, on case by case basis as recommended by medical team as appointed by the Organizer to monitor the race, such runner may be treated in hospital as designated by the Organizer with a treatment cost not exceeding the amount agreed by the Organizer and the relevant hospital circumstances.
  9. The organizer and its agents will not be held responsible for any issues relating to parking at the venue. Participants are advised to follow the instructions given by traffic personnel for proper parking. The organizer and its agent will not be held responsible due to losses suffered in the event of break in or vandalism to the vehicles of participants. Proper vigilance must be exercised by all participants when parking their vehicles.
