Is the Alliance Bank Heritage Run aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development goals?

Yes, our run holds the treasure of heritage at its core, which is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) or Global Goal 11.4 which is to strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage.

The goal of the run is to highlight the heritage of Penang through routes that are located within the heritage zone, whilst combining the expressive artwork of participants on a giant canvas.

  

Is the Alliance Bank Heritage Run timed?

The 3KM walk and 7KM run are not timed. Runners are encouraged to walk or run at your comfortable pace.

The 12KM run is a competitive run and ends after 2 hours. The fastest runners to reach the finish line for the 12KM run according to their respective categories will be awarded with prizes.

  

What if I am pregnant?

Both routes are not timed and not competitive, therefore it is totally up to you to decide. However, you are advised to consult your doctor before registering.  

 

What happens if there is bad weather?

A little rain won't stop the event! Though of course in the very unlikely situation of extreme weather conditions, and the event having to be cancelled, all participants will be informed as soon as possible.

  

Registration

What is the age requirement for the 3KM and 7KM?

  1. For 3km, there is no age restriction to participate but participants must be able to complete the distance. For 7km, participants have to be 13 years and above.
  2. All children aged 5 years and above as of the 31st December 2024 must be registered.
  3. All participants, registered and unregistered aged below 17 years of age as of the 31st December 2024 must be accompanied at all times by at least one registered adult being aged 18 years and above as of the 31st December 2024.
  4. Children below the age of 5 years as of the 31st December 2024 may register if they wish to receive a Race Pack, however we do not have t-shirt sizes for those ages.

What is the age requirement for the 12KM?

16 years and above as of 31 December 2024. Please refer to table below for each category:

What if I have purchased a ticket for the 3KM and 7KM and wish to change to the 12KM category?

Please email ask@alliancebankheritagerun.com with your current ticket confirmation details and our customer service will assist you to facilitate the necessary changes and payment.

 

How can I register?

How do I make payment?
You can pay by credit card, FPX or e-wallets through the online payment portal, which you will be directed to, after you have completed the registration form.

 

Can I do bulk registration?
Yes, bulk registration is possible, however you must have available all teammates’ information for the registration page.

  

How will I know if my online registration is successful?

You will receive an e-ticket upon your successful registration which will be sent to your registered email address.  Do take note that a copy of the e-ticket, hard or soft copy, is a compulsory document required during your Race Pack collection. Please remember to bring along your e-ticket and your NRIC (for Malaysian) or Photo ID card (for non-Malaysian) for verification during the Race Pack collection.

  

If I cannot make it to the run, can I get a refund or withdraw / transfer / defer my participation?

All entries are non-transferable, non-refundable and non-deferrable.

 

Can I change the race category after confirmation of my registration?

No.

 

Can I make changes to my personal particulars after confirmation of my registration?

No, you may not make any changes once registration is complete.

 

I am a foreigner. What are the regulations from the Malaysian Immigration Department for participating in events in Malaysia?

You are responsible to make all the necessary travel arrangements, as well as obtain all entry, exit, health and other relevant documents. Please contact the applicable Consulate or Embassy for these additional requirements.

As per the new requirement from the Malaysian Immigration Department, please state in the Disembarking Visitor Card the purpose of your visit to Malaysia is to participate in the particular event that you have registered for.

Event Day

Where do I get the race routes?

Please refer to Race Information on the event website.

 

Can I rollerblade or cycle during the race day?

No. To ensure the safety of all participants, using any wheel-run objects during the race is not allowed. Any participants using wheel-run objects will be requested to exit the race course immediately by the security officers/officials.

 

What if I run together with my baby / child in the stroller?

Baby prams / strollers are allowed only in the 3KM and 7KM course and are the sole responsibility of the participant.

 

Is parking provided during the race day?

Public parking spots are available around the race venue.

 

Are shuttle bus(es) provided to the race venue during the race day?

No.

 

Can I bring my pets along?

No. Pets are strictly not allowed on the race venue and race course.

  

Is there a baggage check-in area at the race venue?

No.

 

What if I am injured during the race or otherwise unable to finish the race?

Manned first aid stations are along the course to attend to participants who are injured and/or unable to finish the race.

  

What time does each category start?

Please refer to Race Information on the event website.

 

What time do we need to complete the runs? 

3KM and 7KM : The cut-off time will be 1.5 hours from the flag-off time.
12KM : The cut-off time will be 2 hours from the flag-off time.
Kindly adhere strictly to our cut-off times for your own safety as public roads will be reopened.

 

Do we need money for the post-run Festival Area?

The festival and its interactive attractions are provided free of charge. However, there will be food and beverage concessions and vendors to make the Festival even more enjoyable, so a small amount might come in handy. 

 

Is everyone allowed to paint on the giant canvas?

Yes! We will be having a giant canvas for all participants to collectively paint and express their creativity. We believe that the real impact of participatory art lies in human connection and relationships formed in the process. There will be painting equipment provided at the area which participants can freely utilise.

 

Can spectators attend the post-run Festival Area?

Yes. We encourage family and friends that aren’t participating to come, watch and enjoy the festivities.

 

Race Pack Collection

Where and when is the Race Pack Collection?

Please refer to the Race Pack Collection on the event website. We will be updating the information in due course.

   

Can I ask someone to collect the Race Pack on my behalf?

Yes. Your representative must bring along your registration e-ticket with the authorization section duly completed and signed by you. 

  

What are the sizes of the Event’s running t-shirts?

Please refer to the chart for the size measurement. All sizes are Asian sizes and unisex cutting. Requests for change of T-shirt size will NOT be entertained at any point of time including during Race Pack Collection and Event Day.

  

I would like to get my Race Pack delivered to my home / office address. Is it possible?

No, we will be having a collection on the week of the event, kindly make the necessary arrangement to have it collected by a representative should you not be available.

 

I lost my Race Pack. Can I get a replacement?

No.

 

Can I collect my Race Pack after the event, if I do not collect during the Race Pack Collection?

No.  Unfortunately, all Race Pack not collected during the designated period will be forfeited.

    1. Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd. ("Alliance", "we", "our" or "us") values and is committed to protecting Personal Data.     1. We collect and process personal data when you interact with us through the  Alliance Bank Heritage Run, which includes without limitation:
      1. your personal details, such as your name, company name, residential address, contact number, email address, date of birth, race, gender, marital status, national registration identity card number, passport number, nationality, images and biometrics;
      2. your payment details, such as your debit/credit card information, bank account details and payment history;
      3. technical information such as Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone settings, browser plugin type, operating systems and platform, device information and account login information;
      4. the date(s) and time(s) you access the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website;
      5. your running statistics and data;
      6. information relating to your activities, habits, preferences and interests arising from your participation of the Event including your views or opinions made known to us via feedback or surveys;
      7. any details relating to any other person(s) who may be identified from any information, data or document you submit to us; and
      8. any other personal information you provide to us in the course of your interaction with us (collectively referred to as "Personal Data").
    2. We may collect your Personal Data:
      1. when you access the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website and/or any of the other websites/online platforms (collectively, “Sites”);
      2. when you ask us about the Event i.e. registration, ticket purchasing process, payment process etc. or otherwise communicate with us;
      3. when you register an account on the Alliance Bank Heritage Run website to sign up for the Event;
      4. when you participate in the lucky draw (if any), organised in conjunction with the Event;
      5. when you make payments to purchase tickets to this Event;
      6. when you participate in our promotional events via the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website and/or our official social media channels;
      7. when we deliver, contest prizes, or any other merchandise related to the Event to you;
      8. when you provide us with any feedback, participate in surveys and/or lodge a complaint with us;

  3. Purposes
    1. We may use and process your Personal Data in a number of ways, including but not limited to the following purposes:
      1. to manage your participation in events and/or promotions hosted on the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website, if you have signed up for such events and/or promotions;

      16. for and/or in connection with all other purposes incidental and/or ancillary to our business/services or in furtherance to any of the above mentioned purposes (collectively referred to as the "Purposes").
  4. Disclosure to Third Parties
    1. If and when necessary in connection with the Purposes, your Personal Data may be disclosed and/or transferred to third parties which may or may not be located outside Malaysia, including but not limited to:
      1. our affiliates;
      2. our employees, authorised agents or contractors and other third party service providers who provide services to Alliance for any of the Purposes mentioned in Paragraph C;
      3. our partners, vendors and sponsors participating in the Event;
      4. our external advisors, professional or otherwise, including solicitors, accountants and auditors; and/or
      5. government, quasi-government and regulatory authorities.
    2. In addition to the above, we may also disclose and transfer your Personal Data to the above third parties for the purposes of any corporate exercises involving Alliance including any mergers or acquisitions.
  5. Security of Personal Data
    1. Although we endeavour to maintain appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the security of your Personal Data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration, no electronic transmission of information can be entirely secure. We cannot guarantee that the security measures we have in place are one hundred percent sufficient or effective to safeguard your Personal Data. As a user of the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website, you agree to assume all responsibilities and risks in your use of the Website, and acknowledge the existence of all such risks in using the internet generally.
  6. Consent, Withdrawal of Consent and Opting Out
    1. Except as otherwise provided in this Notice, we only collect Personal Data that you provide to us. If you would prefer that we do not collect Personal Data from you, please do not provide us with any such information or access the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website. By visiting the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website, providing Personal Data to us, or otherwise interacting with us, you shall be deemed to have read and consented to our processing of your Personal Data in the manner as described in this Notice.

    6. By participating in the Event, any photos, videos, testimonials taken of the participant, is an auto-consent upon signing up for the Event.

    1. Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website may use cookies to enhance the experience of our users. A cookie is an element of data that can be sent to your browser. Please read the following terms and conditions ("Terms") carefully. Each individual who registers to participate in the Alliance Bank Heritage Run 2024 - an on-ground running event (collectively referred to as "the Event"), and where applicable, in the case of a participant below the age of 18 years, the participant's parent, guardian or legal representative (collectively referred to as "Participant"), declares and acknowledges to have read, understood and agreed to the Terms and undertakes to comply with and be bound by the same.

  1. The Event is organised by Hamburger Asia Sdn Bhd (the 'Organiser') for Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad.
  2. The details of the Event are as follows:

  3. Eligibility:
    1. The Event is open to individuals aged 5 and above, and each Participant attends the Event on his or her own free will, subject to the following requirements:
    2. For Participants aged 5 - 17 years old (“Minor Participants”) to be eligible for the On-Ground Run, he/she MUST be accompanied by at least one Participant of 18 years old and above and present at all times as the guardian of the said Minor Participant(s).
    3. For the avoidance of doubt, a Participant below the age of 18 is required to obtain his/her parental/legal guardian’s consent, failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to that Participant.
    4. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel and/or add any race category and change the eligibility without prior notice to the Participants.

 

EVENT REGISTRATION

  1. By signing up for the Event and providing any information, personal or otherwise (“Registration Data”) to the Organiser on the Event’s platform (the “Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website”), the Participant is deemed to have given explicit permission to the Organiser and its co-organisers, co-sponsors, partners, volunteers, and any entities or persons that provide products or services for the Event and the Event’s activities (its “Affiliates”) to collect, process, store and retain his/her Registration Data (including the Participant’s personal data) for the purposes as they may deem fit, including without any limitation for the purposes as follows:
    1. to manage the Participant’s participation in events and/or promotions hosted on the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website, if he/she has signed up for such events and/or promotions;
    2. to process payments made by the Participant or on the Participant’s behalf via the Organiser’s payment gateway operated by third party service providers;
    3. to use the Participant’s running statistics and data to track the Participant’s progress for the collection of race packs or other such mechanics;
    4. to enable the Participant to interact with other participants/registrants of the Event;
    5. to provide administrative notices or communications applicable to the Participant’s use of the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website;
    6. to manage and maintain the Organiser’s relationship with the Participant;
    7. to keep the Participant informed of the Organiser’s products and/or services, promotions, discounts, and/or events;
    8. to provide care and enhance customer satisfaction, including but not limited to: resolving complaints, dealing with and/or responding to the Participant’s requests and enquiries related to the Event;
    9. to operate, evaluate and improve the business, and the products and services offered by the Organiser;
    10. to analyse and enhance the Organiser’s marketing communications and strategies;
    11. for internal record keeping or other administrative purposes;
    12. for statistical analysis purposes;
    13. for information management and security purposes, including but not limited to managing and administrating e-mails, handling and investigating any security-related issues, vulnerabilities, and/or incidents;
    14. (upon completion of the Event) where there are outstanding obligations either on the Participant’s part or on the Organiser’s part;
    15. to purchase Group Personal Accident Insurance on behalf of the Participant (as made mandatory by the Sports Commissioner of Malaysia for every public sports event);
    16. to exercise any functions conferred by law and/or towards the administration of justice; and/or
    17. for and/or in connection with all other purposes incidental and/or ancillary to the Organiser’s business/services or in furtherance to any of the above mentioned purposes.

 

EVENT PARTICIPATION

  1. The Participant shall fully assume all risks associated with his/her participation in the Event, including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the Organiser and the Affiliates, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained or controlled by the same. The Participant understands and acknowledges that the Organiser and its Affiliates provide no warranties regarding the Participant’s wellbeing and safety before, during and after the Event.
  2. By participating in the Event, the Participant agrees that he/she is physically fit and has not been advised by a qualified medical professional to not participate in the Event. The Participant further certifies that there are no health-related reasons or issues which preclude his/her participation in the Event.
  3. While the Organiser endeavours to ensure the safety of the Participants during the Event, to the extent permitted by law, the Organiser shall not be liable to any persons (whether the Participants or any third parties) for any losses or damages arising during the Event (including any traveling to and from the On-Ground Run), whether or not the same is caused by or attributable to any acts or omissions on the part of the Organiser or its Affiliates. This shall include, but shall not be limited to:
    1. any losses or damages to property;
    2. any death or personal injuries to any persons; or
    3. any indirect/consequential (including loss of income or profits), general, special, punitive or contingent damages howsoever arising, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise and even if the Organiser has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

 

  1. On-Ground Run
    1. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant under the age of 5. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Organiser reserves the right to limit and/or refuse any Participant’s entry to the On-Ground Run without giving any reason/notice.
    2. The Participant for 3KM and 7KM shall wear the wristband given at all times during the On-Ground Run. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any non-compliant Participants. The Participant for 12KM must wear the assigned numbered race bib at all times during the Run. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any non-compliant Participants
    3. The Participant shall comply with the rules and safety instructions provided to him/her by the Organiser and its Affiliates, at all times before, during and after the On-Ground Run.
    4. It is the sole responsibility of every Participant to immediately inform the official medical staff/safety marshal of the Event if he/she is mentally or physically unfit; suffers any injury at any time during or immediately before the On-Ground Run, or any other reasons that they have to withdraw from the On-Ground Run.
    5. In the event the Participant suffers any injuries or feels breathless or faint during the On-Ground Run, he/she must immediately retire from the On-Ground Run if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff/safety marshal.
    6. The Participant further consents to receiving appropriate medical treatment that is deemed fit and advisable in the event of an illness, accident or injury occurring during or at the On-Ground Run.
    7. For the avoidance of doubt, there shall be no refunds of the fees if any of the Participant withdraws or retires from the event.
    8. The Participant shall be responsible for his/her belongings and property as the Organiser and its Affiliates shall under no circumstances be held responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen property caused by whatever reason during the On-Ground Run.
    9. The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of the Participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the On-Ground Run (including any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any other activities associated before, during or after the On-Ground Run, for any legitimate purpose including but not limited to commercial advertising and publicity purposes, without any payment or any form of compensation to the Participants.
    10. There will be no prizes for the 3KM and 7KM category. Prizes will only be given away for the 12KM categories. The winners of the 12KM categories must be personally present at the Venue on the day of the Run with valid ID for verification, to collect their prizes upon the announcement of the results. All uncollected prizes will be forfeited.
    11. The Organiser reserves the right to request a sighting of the winners’ original identity card(s) or passport(s) for verification purposes.
  2. Others
    1. The Organiser reserves the ultimate right to amend the Terms which will be reflected on the Alliance Bank Heritage Run Website, and it is the responsibility of all the Participants to keep abreast with any changes.
    2. The Organiser reserves the right to make any changes to the Event’s Dates, Venue or to cancel the Event (collectively referred to as “Event Changes”) at any time without prior notice to the Participants, in which case the Organiser will make every reasonable effort to inform the Participants prior to the Event Date. There shall be NO refund of any fees paid and the Organiser shall not be liable for any other losses or inconvenience caused to the Participant resulting from any of the Event Changes.
    3. There will be no refund on the fees if the Event is cancelled for reasons of force majeure i.e. due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser (including but not limited to haze, storm, rain, inclement weather, wind, acts of God, terrorism, or other conditions) and which in the Organiser's opinion, renders it impossible or unsafe to proceed with the Event.
    4. Alliance Bank Heritage Run Privacy Policy can be found at https://www.alliancebankheritagerun.com.my/privacy-policy (“Privacy Policy”) and forms an integral part of the Terms. The Participant acknowledges that he/she has read and understood the Privacy Policy and agrees to the processing of the Participant’s personal data as set out therein. The Organiser may use reasonable efforts to bring any significant changes to the Privacy Policy to the Participant’s attention.
